This thursday evenings confrontation will be based in West Virginia in 1861 at the outset of the war.
The battle is Greenbrier River and was vital in that its outcome could decide the control of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad the Norths main transport artery to the western states.
The confederates are under the command of Thomas Jackson the Union under John Reynolds.
Unlike other battles we have fought this one is at regiment/battalion level not brigade so your general stands will be Division and Brigade level instead of corps and division and your fighting units will be battalions instead of brigades (each 20mm/20mm stand will represent 50men instead of 200) and individual art guns instead of batterys. All the rules, movement rates etc remain the same. We are just zooming in a level.
Expect fresh faced union troops with decent rifles and poor command and control against mountain men rebels with more rustic weapons and better leaders.

Thanks for putting the game on Jon, I enjoyed the battle but it was a shame we ran out of time.
Look forward to next weeks game.
