POW battle held at Ian's last Friday. Jon had a papal army with condotieri and mercenary pike
I took a Florentine army with 2No divisions of condotieri
Florentine cavalry on the attack
Florentine main slowly advance
Papal cavalry on hold
papal CandC on hold
Papal mercenary pike on the right flank
The Florentines avoided these
Russ's favourite dice
Florentine cavalry started well punching a hole in the Papal cavalry
The Papal pike on the move
High point of the Florentine cavalry
where's all the Florentine cavalry gone
Oh there it is
"It's dead Jim"
main Florentine division forced to halt by army morale as the pike close in
The last of the Florentine cavalry
Pike push thru Florentines like they weren't there
And that was the end.
Nice game, enjoyable company
Thanks gents
Mark

It was an excellent game. By turn 4 it looked like Jon's Papal army had been crushed, by turn 12 the game had completely turned around and Mark's Florentines were melting away! I would say Jon is now ready for the campaign just need to get a game in with Phil and the Spanish.
Sounds like you had a great game and a POW roller coaster experience. It's the only set of rules that creates such uncertainty. You can truly believe you have lost or are on the verge of a crushing victory and then realise in a dash that you have swung things around in your favour or have been robbed of certain glory.
Can't wait for the campaign to begin
