Japanese Army Lists For Thursday's Big DBA Game

Further to last nights discussions here is the official army list for the Japanese.

I will leave the army building up to Phil as I have no idea what he has based up on 40mm frontages!

Also - thinking on from our chat post game about inferior and superior troop types I would of thought that the ideal rule and simplest is to allow a re roll of a 1 for superior troops and make inferior troops re roll a 6 in combat. This rule is used in FOG and works well.

Any other suggestions welcome

WAR OF THE AUSTRIAN SUCCESSION

WAR OF THE AUSTRIAN SUCCESSION

These boys are painted
I have been somewhat preoccupied with work and the house over the last few months.  Work continues but the house is now done for the time being.  So, I will have more time for wargaming and I will be putting on a series of major battles from the War of the Austrian Succession.  These will be the four major battles of the Army of the Pragmatic Sanction and its attempt to thwart the despotic ambitions of Louis XV's France.  These battles are Dettingen, the last battle in which a British monarch led his army, Fontenoy, probably the British armies most splendid defeat, Lauffeldt, in which the French army uses column of attack, and Rocoux, where a French army led by a German confronts a British army led by a Frenchman!

These boys are nearly painted!
The French and the British are the main protagonists, but the Dutch, Austrians, Hannoverians, Swiss, Irish renegades, international adventurers and two monarchs will be making an appearance.

I intend to play the battle of  Dettingen on Good Friday and then gently roll out the other three battles during the course of this year.  These are all classic battles with interesting features that will allow us to travel through and understand one specific theatre of a very complicated war.

Let me know who can make it for the first battle and I will organise it appropriatley.

ACW night Number 2

Thursday game will be a non historical number that I will set up using the random generator in the rule book. I'll do the forces tonight while at work and we can roll for terrain on the night. Last weeks game showed Phil's thin line of Georgian veterans hold up and then break two large Green Union regiments prompting Russ' immortal line "Green troops are a bit brittle arn't they"

GAULS

Jon

As discussed last night here is the DBM Gallic army list for you. Cap yourself at around 300 points ( +/- 3 either way)

As the warband cost buttons you could end up with a swarm of an army!

ACW night

This thursday evenings confrontation will be based in West Virginia in 1861 at the outset of the war.

The battle is Greenbrier River and was vital in that its outcome could decide the control of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad the Norths main transport artery to the western states.

The confederates are under the command of Thomas Jackson the Union under John Reynolds.

Unlike other battles we have fought this one is at regiment/battalion level not brigade so your general stands will be Division and Brigade level instead of corps and division and your fighting units will be battalions instead of brigades (each 20mm/20mm stand will represent 50men instead of 200) and individual art guns instead of batterys. All the rules, movement rates etc remain the same. We are just zooming in a level.

Expect fresh faced union troops with decent rifles and poor command and control against mountain men rebels with more rustic weapons and better leaders.

ON YOUR KNEES!
