We had another Japanese battle on Thursday. Ian vs Mark and Russ in a rerun of the 4th Battle of Kawanakajima. Ian had less bases but 4 lots of cavalry to Mark and Russ' 2 - and they told. Using a staggered formation (with shooting troops next to melee troops) he found it more effective to shoot then charge home - and as usual with POW exploiting any flank he could.
To be fair to Mark and Russ, Ian went through a ridiculous period of dice rolling (at one stage his sequence on a d20 was 1, 1, 1, 3, 3) and under such activity the result (although at one stage was in the balance) soon shifted to the Witcher.
It was a race to see who would crumble first between Russ and Mark and Russ won by a bound with his samurai and ashigaru making for the hills.
A good run out for the rules and we're getting slicker - a result in less than 21/2 hours (delayed by the bleeding Coca Cola truck snarling up Broughton for 3 hours!).
